Performing Arts Centers Operations Lead
The Performing Arts Centers (PAC) Operations Lead provides districtwide coordination and operational oversight for Mid-Del Public Schools' three primary performing arts centers. This position manages facility scheduling, supports technical theater operations, supervises event logistics, and ensures safe and efficient use of district performing arts facilities. The specialist supports district fine arts programs while coordinating community use of district venues. Position may require evening and weekend hours to support performances and events.
Qualification requirements include the ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, a valid Oklahoma Driver's License with an acceptable driving record, availability for unscheduled emergency calls, a bachelor's degree in Theatre or Theatre Production preferred but not required, minimum of three years of experience in theater operations, venue management, or technical theater leadership preferred, knowledge of theater lighting, sound, and stage systems, strong organizational and communication skills, ability to manage multiple events and schedules, and proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
Essential duties and responsibilities include working at heights not to exceed 110 feet as well as in confined spaces, managing the master calendar for all district Performing Arts Centers (PAC), providing operational oversight of theater technology, supporting technical needs for district performances, concerts, productions, and special events, recruiting, training, and supervising technical support staff and student workers, coordinating with maintenance, custodial, and security teams to support events, ensuring compliance with district safety policies and theater safety procedures, and additional duties that may be assigned by immediate supervisor or above.
Language and grammar skills include the ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos, and ability to compose and write grammatically correct correspondence and memos.
Reasoning ability includes the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists, and ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, schedule form, or blueprint form.
Physical demands include the ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up or more than 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to or more than 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work environment characteristics include regular exposure to fume or airborne particles, frequent work in high, precarious places (including ladders and backstage areas) and in outside weather conditions, frequent work near moving mechanical parts, extreme cold (including outdoors), extreme heat (including direct sunlight), risk of electrical shock and vibration, and noise levels that vary from somewhat loud to extremely loud.
Supervisory responsibilities may occasionally require the employee to supervise a varying number of employees in the overall direction, coordination, and completion of tasks as assigned.
