Nuclear Medicine Technologist (PRN)

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist provides safe, age-appropriate patient care by performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures using specialized equipment. They independently set up imaging equipment, position patients, and ensure high-quality images, adhering to departmental protocols. The role involves verifying clinician orders, obtaining clinical histories, administering radiopharmaceuticals safely, and ensuring patient privacy and comfort. Technologists respond to emergencies, maintain equipment, and participate in quality control to produce acceptable images. They communicate clearly with patients, staff, and physicians, explaining procedures and addressing concerns using excellent customer service skills. The position requires a high school diploma or GED, relevant certification (ARRT-N or CNMT), and BLS certification. Minimum one year of clinical or nuclear medicine experience is preferred. The role demands strong communication, multitasking, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Additional duties include supporting departmental operations, maintaining compliance with standards, and assisting with training and mentoring staff.
