What You'll Do:

• Provide direct patient care to 24-25 beds across Cardiac and Medical Stepdown units
• Manage complex patients such as post-CABG, lung surgery, PCI, AICD placements, TAVR, respiratory failure, CVA, DKA, sepsis, and other medical conditions
• Titrate cardiac, insulin, and vasopressor drips including Esmolol, Cardene, Cardizem, and others
• Manage chest tubes, tracheostomies, central lines, drains, and wounds
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including techs, RTs, hospitalists, and support staff
• Complete documentation accurately using Meditech Expanse EMR system
• Adhere to safety protocols and unit policies, maintaining a professional and patient-centered care environment

What You Need:

• Valid RN license in Louisiana or state of residence
• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications
• At least 2 years of recent PCU RN experience, with cardiac stepdown experience preferred
• Ability to pass EKG competency exam and titrate cardiac/pharmacological drips

Preferred:

• LVAD certification (for 2W Cardiac Stepdown)
• Experience with management of venous sheaths, temporary pacemakers, TR Band, and other cardiac interventions

Additional info:

• Willing to work 4 days one week, 3 days the next, with every other weekend rotation
• No on-call hours
• Will work holidays (2/3 major holidays during assignment)
• Scrub color: Pewter with gray, white, or black T-shirts with WK monogram
