Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Scrum Master to support an Agile software development team delivering modern technology solutions. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience facilitating Agile ceremonies, coaching development teams, removing delivery impediments, and driving continuous process improvement.

In this role, you will work closely with development teams, product owners, technical stakeholders, and project leadership to support successful sprint execution and delivery. You will help the team apply Scrum and Agile best practices, maintain focus on sprint and program objectives, identify risks early, and continuously improve team performance.

This position is well suited for a Scrum Master who is organized, collaborative, proactive, and comfortable supporting technology projects in structured enterprise or public-sector environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Facilitate Agile ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement/grooming, sprint reviews, retrospectives, requirements sessions, and roadmap planning.
• Coach and support development teams in applying Scrum and Agile principles and best practices.
• Help teams remain focused on sprint goals, project milestones, Program Increment objectives, and planned deliverables.
• Track sprint progress, team commitments, dependencies, risks, and delivery metrics.
• Identify and remove impediments that may impact team productivity or project delivery.
• Proactively communicate risks, blockers, dependencies, and delivery concerns to appropriate stakeholders.
• Use JIRA and Confluence to manage sprints, backlogs, documentation, progress tracking, and team visibility.
• Support backlog management and ensure work items are properly organized, prioritized, and prepared for upcoming sprints.
• Assist with release planning and coordination of software delivery activities.
• Collaborate with product owners, developers, technical teams, and business stakeholders to support successful project execution.
• Drive continuous improvement by evaluating team processes, identifying opportunities for improvement, and implementing sustainable Agile practices.
• Support the team in improving collaboration, communication, accountability, and overall delivery effectiveness.

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a Scrum Master supporting Agile software development teams.
• Hands-on experience facilitating daily stand-ups, backlog refinement/grooming, sprint planning, sprint reviews, retrospectives, roadmap development, and requirements sessions.
• Experience using Agile project management and collaboration tools, including JIRA and Confluence .
• Experience with sprint management, backlog management, and release planning.
• Strong understanding of Scrum and Agile methodologies .
• Knowledge of commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) software development and delivery processes.
• Ability to identify and resolve impediments affecting development teams and project delivery.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong collaboration, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Bachelor’s degree .
• Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) certification .
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident (Green Card Holder).

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified SAFe Practitioner or SAFe Agilist certification .
• Experience working within a SAFe or scaled Agile environment.
• Experience supporting public health, healthcare, government, or public-sector technology projects .
• Experience with User Acceptance Testing (UAT) .
• Experience or familiarity with user experience (UX) design .
• Experience coaching Agile teams toward improved delivery outcomes.
• Demonstrated experience implementing process improvements within software development teams.
• Strong stakeholder management and facilitation skills.
