Senior Laboratory Technician, Biocompatibility Testing

Edwards Lifesciences seeks a Senior Laboratory Technician to conduct in vivo biocompatibility and safety testing for medical devices. The role involves hands-on laboratory work with small animals, equipment maintenance, data management, and support for regulatory submissions in an Irvine, California facility.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in vivo studies using small animals including mouse, rabbit, and guinea pig test models
• Perform animal dosing, health monitoring, sample preparation, and protocol adherence
• Maintain laboratory equipment, instruments, and inventory; ensure compliance with safety standards
• Collect, organize, and manage study data and records according to established procedures
• Lead continuous improvement projects and train junior technicians on new procedures

Requirements

• Associate's degree in biology, veterinary science, animal science, or related scientific field
• Minimum three years of in vivo biological testing experience in academic or industry settings
• Proficiency with small laboratory animal handling, dosing, and health assessments
• Knowledge of ISO 10993 biocompatibility testing requirements and GLP/GDP/GMP practices
• RVT or LAT certifications preferred; familiarity with QSR and FDA regulations helpful

Compensation: $53,000-$75,000 base
