Assembly TechnicianThe Assembly Technician operates production and manufacturing equipment to build high-quality components in a controlled, compliant environment. This role focuses on precise mechanical assembly, disciplined production techniques, and accurate documentation to meet stringent industry and customer requirements.ResponsibilitiesOperate production and manufacturing equipment in accordance with established work instructions and process requirements.Load materials into machines, monitor equipment performance, and make basic adjustments to maintain proper operation.Maintain complete traceability and accurate documentation for all work performed, ensuring compliance with AS9100, ITAR/DFARS, and customer-specific requirements.Apply disciplined assembly techniques, including crimping, soldering, splicing, potting, conformal coating, and heat-shrink application, to deliver repeatable and auditable results.Perform mechanical assembly tasks using hand tools and power tools with a strong focus on accuracy and consistency.Remove excess plastic and other materials from parts to meet quality and dimensional standards.Conduct visual inspections of assembled components to verify quality, identify defects, and ensure adherence to specifications.Follow blueprints and assembly instructions to build components and subassemblies to required tolerances.Document work performed and maintain organized records to support quality control and regulatory compliance.Adhere to all safety, quality, and process guidelines while working in a clean, controlled environment.Essential SkillsProven ability to operate production and manufacturing equipment following detailed work instructions.Experience with mechanical assembly using hand tools and power tools.Ability to perform and maintain disciplined assembly techniques such as crimping, soldering, splicing, potting, conformal coating, and heat-shrink application.Strong attention to detail in all aspects of assembly and inspection work.Ability to read and write to understand work instructions, blueprints, and documentation requirements.Capability to perform visual inspections and identify defects or nonconforming parts.Comfort working with blueprints and mechanical drawings to assemble components to specification.Commitment to maintaining accurate documentation and full traceability of work performed.Ability to follow and support compliance with AS9100, ITAR/DFARS, and customer-specific requirements.Additional Skills & QualificationsPrevious working experience in an optical lab or cleanroom environment is highly beneficial.Familiarity with multi-step mechanical assembly processes.Experience working under documented quality systems and audit requirements.Ability to work effectively in a structured, process-driven production setting.Why Work Here?Employees benefit from world-class benefits and a clean, well-organized work setting that supports focus, precision, and long-term career growth. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
