Manufacturing Engineer (12 Month Contract)

Job Description

The Manufacturing Engineer (Temporary) will play a pivotal role in supporting the transfer and startup of a manufacturing cell from an existing facility to a new production site. This role involves designing and implementing the manufacturing cell layout, establishing process flows, developing necessary fixtures and tooling, creating standard work processes, and training operators to ensure a safe, efficient, and repeatable production launch. This is a hands-on, on-site position within an operations/manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead manufacturing cell transfer activities, including layout planning, equipment placement, process flow, and startup readiness.
• Develop and implement manufacturing cell layouts to enhance safety, ergonomics, material flow, quality, and production efficiency.
• Create and document standard work, work instructions, process controls, and visual management tools.
• Train operators on processes, quality expectations, equipment usage, and safe work practices to meet standard production times.
• Support startup and stabilization by identifying risks, resolving issues, and improving first pass yield and throughput.
• Drive continuous improvement in quality, delivery, safety, and productivity.
• Maintain production performance to achieve on-time delivery goals.
• Collaborate with Quality and suppliers to identify root causes of component failures and implement corrective actions.
• Develop fixturing, tooling, and process improvements for production lines.
• Support qualification of new and revised parts with engineering teams.

This is a Contract position based out of Elk Grove Village, IL.

The pay range for this position is $38.46 - $57.69/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Elk Grove Village,IL.

This position is anticipated to close on Jul 14, 2026.
