Field Service Technician

Job Description Job Description Field Service Technician Commerical Buildings & Parking Facilities Location: Cleveland, Ohio & surrounding area Work Location: In person Position Type: Full-time or Part-time / 1099 or W-2 Responsibilities: * Install, configure, and service commercial security camera systems (IP and/or analog) in garages, office buildings, and lots * Run and terminate low-voltage cabling (Cat5e/Cat6, coax, etc.) * Mount cameras, NVRs, PoE switches, and related equipment * Set up and troubleshoot remote viewing, network connections, and recording settings * Diagnose and repair camera, cabling, and power issues in the field * Work safely on ladders, lifts, and in parking garages / mechanical rooms * Document work performed and communicate clearly with management * Respond to occasional after-hours/emergency service calls as needed * Installation of both residential and commercial security systems, access and video systems * Diagnosing equipment problems through sound troubleshooting techniques * Repairing and/or replacing defective equipment or components to get system(s) back into proper operation * Providing honest solutions to client's problems * Completing required paperwork in a timely manner * Effectively communicating information with clients and customer service staff * Support of sales staff * Continued learning, training, and special projects Qualifications: * 2+ years of experience with commercial security cameras OR strong low-voltage/electrical background and willingness to learn * Experience with IP cameras, NVRs/DVRs, and basic networking (IP addresses, switches, routers) * Comfortable using power tools, testers, and working at heights * Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently * Valid driver's license and reliable transportation * Able to pass a basic background check SKILLS/ABILITIES: * Strong interpersonal and customer service skills * Strong sense of initiative * Excellent communication skills * Accurate and detail oriented * Well-organized * Problem solving abilities * Strong sense of urgency * Displaying a professional appearance WORKING CONDITIONS: * Daily traveling to worksites * Drug-Free Workplace Program, subject to random drug screenings * Pre-employment BCI records check * In-frequent weekend work * Must be able to lift 80 pounds * Must be able to Climb a Ladder * Must be Comfortable Working with Hand tools EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: * High school diploma * 2-Year degree preferred * Valid driver's license * Background check required * 10-panel drug screen required * Motor Vehicle Record check required EXPERIENCE & BACKGROUNDS: * Demonstrated experience setting up, installing, and/or maintaining IP CCTV camera systems ( Required ). * Information Technology and/or IP Networking experience. * Security industry knowledge (Fire Alarm systems, Access control, Low-Voltage Electrical, etc). * Proper use of assorted hand and power tools. * Wiring and cabling skills. Compensation: * Pay range: $23 - $29 per hour, depending on experience and certifications * Higher end of the range for strong commercial experience / IP systems / networking * 1099 or W-2 structure possible * Mileage and/or parking reimbursement for field work can be discussed * Opportunities for more hours as we expand to additional locations Company Description We are a small, local, family owned minority business, who operates within the greater Cleveland area since 1979.
