Neuro Med/Surg Tele Nurse

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (07:30 - 19:30). Every other weekend and holiday are required. 36 hours per week guarantee.

Job Description

The Neuro Med/Surg Tele Nurse will provide care in a Med/Surg Telemetry Certified Stroke Center and a Level IV Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU). The nurse will primarily work with patients who have neuro-related diagnoses while also supporting other patient populations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients with neurological disorders.
• Monitor patients using telemetry and respond to changes in conditions.
• Administer medications and manage IV therapy and hemodialysis as required.
• Document and communicate effectively with interdisciplinary teams.
• Support patients and families in understanding their conditions and treatments.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Two years of neurology and medical-surgical telemetry experience.
• BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
• NIHSS certification must be obtained prior to orientation.
• Valid Maryland or Compact RN license at the time of submission.
