Your Opportunity We are looking for a talented Water/Wastewater Sr. Project Manager focused on the planning and engineering design of water/wastewater infrastructure projects. You will primarily work on water/wastewater-related projects through collaboration with a wide range of technical disciplines. Your Key Responsibilities You Manage a team of design professionals and technicians You mentor and supervise staff and develop high-performing project teams You perform business development and collaborate with staff to increase project wins and develop long-lasting client relationships. Routine tasks include: participate in business line teams to manage and develop proposals Client facing for business development contact, meetings, walk-downs, and presentations Scope of work documents and estimates Collaboration with multiple business lines to develop opportunities Quality reviews You assist senior engineers/designers with developing and managing the project scope, budget, staffing, and schedule You perform complex engineering design tasks on assigned water/wastewater projects through collaboration with a wide range of technical disciplines. Routine technical tasks include: design basis documents and engineering calculations, equipment sizing and selection, engineering drawings (BFDs, PFDs, P&IDs), engineering reports, feasibility studies, and presentations to clients/regulatory agencies Quality reviews and management of design and construction of projects You develop project management plans and establish goals for unique and complex projects You are responsible for achieving budget, schedule, and contractual obligations You coordinate quality assurance and quality control on assigned projects and facilitate independent technical reviews You participate in permitting processes and engage with clients, contractors, and stakeholders You make decisions on large projects and coordinate with regulatory review for final approval You manage projects of varying complexity within multidisciplinary teams You research regulatory and other drivers impacting projects You assist business leaders in project revenue forecasting You oversee proposals including the development of scope and level of effort You support decisions and recommendations governed by policy and project governance You supervise local staff and provide mentoring and coaching for future leaders, including succession planning Your Capabilities and Credentials You inspire project teams to higher levels of achievement You engage employees in discussions on job satisfaction and engagement and provide ongoing recognition and feedback Ability to perform mass and energy balance and process equipment sizing calculations in coordination with other engineering disciplines Understanding of local and regional jurisdictional codes, legal and design requirements Education and Experience Education: Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Experience: Minimum of 15 years related experience in project management, preferably for water/wastewater projects Licensure: Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or ability to obtain license within 6 months PMP is a plus Demonstrated leadership including defining direction for a team, project, and office; strategy development; change management; and corporate stewardship Travel to other offices and project sites may be required Company Information and Benefits Stantec is a place where the best and brightest come to build on each other’s talents, do exciting work, and make an impact.
