This position is affiliated with the OSU Center for Health Sciences.Position SummaryFC Tulsa is seeking a full-time Athletic Trainer to support the prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries for the club's roster. The Athletic Trainer will work closely with the sports medicine and sport science staff to keep players healthy and available, while also contributing to the administration and coordination of medical coverage for training, practices, and matches.ResponsibilitiesPrevent, evaluate, and treat athletic injuries and illnesses for team athletesDesign and oversee rehabilitation programs for injured playersProvide counseling and education to athletes on injury prevention and recoveryCoordinate medical coverage for workouts, practices, and home/away matches, including scheduling of student and graduate assistant athletic trainersSupervise, mentor, and help recruit undergraduate- and master's-level athletic trainersHandle athletic training administrative duties as assignedRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Healthcare Administration, Health/Physical Education, Sports Medicine/Kinesiology, Athletic Training, Physical Therapy, or a related field (must be conferred by the agreed start date)Post-graduate athletic training experienceCertification by the Board of Certification (BOC) for Athletic Trainers and/or the American Physical Therapy AssociationLicensure as a Certified Athletic Trainer in the State of Oklahoma required prior to hireStrong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work across diverse team and organizational contextsAbility to perform detailed, confidential work accurately under deadline pressureWorking knowledge of OSHA guidelines and universal precautionsAbility to manage multiple personnel and tasks simultaneouslyExperience designing strength programs for injured athletesComfortable working extended hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and in varying weather conditionsWillingness and ability to travel, including internationallyProficiency with basic word processing, spreadsheet, and database toolsPreferred QualificationsMaster's degree in a related fieldDual credential as Athletic Trainer and Physical Therapist (AT/PT) preferredAt least 4 years of athletic training experience, including experience working alongside an AT/PTNASM certification as a Performance Enhancement Specialist (PES) or Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES)Experience with manual therapy techniquesWork Schedule: Schedule varies based on team practice and match calendars, and is subject to change based on facility availability and weather.
