The Medical Assistant will support clinical operations in a primary pediatric care clinic, reporting to the Practice Administrator. This role involves direct patient care and requires proficiency in managing patient records, monitoring vital signs, and assisting with medical procedures using AthenaHealth EMR software.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examinations and procedures
• Monitor and record vital signs accurately
• Manage and update medical records in AthenaHealth EMR
• Provide clinical support during patient exams and treatments
• Administer medications as directed
• Communicate effectively with patients regarding care and procedures
• Maintain inventory of medical supplies and equipment

Preferred Qualifications

• Entry-level experience in medical assistance
• Certification from a Medical Assistant Program Preferred
• Phlebotomy skills
• Familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Strong knowledge of patient care and medical terminology
• Effective communication and time management skills
• Attention to detail in clinical tasks
