Responsibilities POSITION SUMMARY Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Vice President of Operations provides strategic and operational leadership to all assigned operational departments/staff in support of the achievement of desired operational, financial, and performance standards and goals to achieve ESC’s strategic initiatives. Responsible for oversight for the daily operations of 169 residents in a pediatric post-acute rehabilitation and long term care facility. This position is also responsible for coordinating the integration of services for the on-site special needs school to meet the needs of the residents. The VP of Operations will be responsible for working an on-site schedule of a five days/week that may include weekends. This position will have direct oversight for the following functions: Associate Administrator, Nursing, Medical Services, Quality, and ESC School (Yonkers). Serves as Administrator of Record for the Elizabeth Seton Children’s Center. JOB FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES Understands and promotes Elizabeth Seton Children’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values to ensure application with organizational policies and procedures. Strategic Planning: Actively participates in setting the strategic direction of management services within operations to ensure effective execution of Elizabeth Seton Children’s Center’s Strategic Objectives utilizing data driven and evidence based measurements. Establish and implement an interdisciplinary vision that provides inventive, holistic care and education of unparalleled quality to transform the lives of our children and young adults with medical complex conditions. Lead special projects and long-term planning for operations in collaboration with the CEO. Regulatory Compliance: Drive quality care by setting and upholding high standards of clinical practice, ensuring every child and young adult receives personalized, top-tier care in alignment with regulatory guidelines and standards to maintain a 5-star CMS rating. Ensure that survey preparations, audits, and plans of correction are executed as needed. Ensures compliance with all Federal and State codes, rules and regulations pertaining to long term care operations of the Children’s Center. Operational Leadership: Lead the development of new programs and services. Lead an interdisciplinary team in the development of an innovative care model that will include enhanced programming, clinical pathways and efficient and effective staffing patterns to achieve the highest quality of care and life for our residents delivered with excellence, dignity and love. Be a strong voice for ESC by representing the organization in professional organizations and committees advocating for excellence for children and young adults with medically complex conditions, presenting and publishing best practices at state and national conferences. Solve problems with compassion by addressing and resolving concerns from residents, families, and staff with empathy and professionalism. Drive high resident/ family and staff satisfaction as evidenced by satisfaction survey scores, formal complaints, and grievances, level of workforce engagement, and social media reviews and postings. Focus on Quality and Safety: Lead a rigorous Just Safety Culture with accountability, empathy, and transparency. Establishes standard for the review of quality data to identify safety, infection control and regulatory trends to improve resident care practices. Promote and support teams to collaborate closely with other departments and community partners to enhance resident care and create opportunities for staff development. Team Leadership and Development: Manages the selection, development and performance of direct reports to retain an engaged operations leadership team for Elizabeth Seton Children’s Center. Drive employee retention by supporting innovative initiatives for recruitment and retention. Provide leadership and mentorship to management and staff, fostering professional development and high-functioning teams. Create and support development opportunities for staff that encourage learning and building skills for promotional opportunities and succession planning. Promote employee engagement by active listening and responding to concerns, and involving staff in decision making. Support service excellence by promoting the Core Values in everyday operations. Financial Stewardship: Manage and meet budgets with precision by developing and overseeing department finances to achieve key performance indicators (KPI’s) to assure efficient and cost-effective operations. Ensure budgeted operations are achieved and address variances with proactive solutions to meet goals as needed. Work with interdisciplinary team to meet occupancy goals by developing clinical service lines and programs to meet the evolving needs of children with medical complex conditions to avoid unnecessary ER visits, decrease hospital length of stays and support families who are seeking our services either as respite or long-term care. Develops and monitors the progress of financial and operational performance standards to assure viable operations, a positive cash flow, budget adherence, and high levels of quality care and customer satisfaction. Qualifications Education Requirements: Master’s degree in health care administration or related field Valid NYS Nursing Home Administrator License Experience Experience: Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in long term care with progressive leadership experience and demonstrated effective leadership skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral). Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others. Effective management skills necessary to organize direct and evaluate the activities of patient care off shift operations. Ability to apply and utilize the balanced scorecard measures (customer service, financial, innovation and growth, and performance improvement). Critical thinking and analytic skills necessary for problem solving and clinical decision-making. Public speaking experience and the ability to deliver impactful presentations. Employee Requirements: Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language fluently. Must meet or exceed all health standards and requirements for the position as established by NYDOH and all other regulatory agencies. Must meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of this Center which includes a medical and physical examination. Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of thirty-five (35) pounds. Perform tasks that may involve exposure to the resident’s blood/body fluids. Must be able to assist in the evacuation of residents, if necessary. Salary Range: $300,000.00/Yr. To $350,000.00/Yr. #J-18808-Ljbffr
