Contract | Nights | 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 56-bed Adult Medical Specialty unit managing acute care general medicine diagnoses including cellulitis, sepsis, dehydration, electrolyte imbalance, syncope, anemia, uncontrolled diabetes, acute respiratory failure, liver failure, kidney failure, and behavioral health and addiction cases
• Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:5–6 during night shift hours in collaboration with Patient Care Technicians
• Manage and monitor central lines, tracheostomies, and chest tubes as part of routine patient care
• Administer and monitor set-rate drips including Heparin and Lasix; titration of drips is not required
• Utilize house-wide telemetry monitoring system; view and interpret telemetry strips via bedside pack or computer using Philips monitors
• Float as needed to other acute care general medicine areas including nephrology, neuro, orthopedics, and oncology

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license or confirmed initiation of the Illinois licensure application process
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Hands-on experience with central lines, tracheostomies, and chest tubes
• Must be able to pass a drug screen; facility maintains a drug-free campus policy
• Ability to work every other weekend (Friday/Saturday for nights) and rotating holidays

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior travel nursing experience on a Medical Surgical floor is strongly preferred
• Experience with EPIC electronic health records system
• Experience in a Level I Trauma Center may be considered in lieu of travel experience when combined with EPIC proficiency
