Job Title

Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry Float

Location

Olympia, WA | Short Term Acute Care

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM

Key Responsibilities

• Float across units to fill staffing needs, supporting a diverse patient population including ER-boarded patients, telemetry, and medical-surgical patients
• Manage a patient assignment with nurse-to-patient ratios ranging from 1:4 to 1:6 depending on unit acuity
• Perform charge nurse duties on designated smaller units, including managing staffing needs, bed flow, and general unit coordination, supported by LPNs and CNAs
• Accurately document patient care and clinical findings using EPIC
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuity and quality of care across multiple unit types
• Commit to working 3 of 5 designated holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license; compact license must be in hand at time of submission
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience in a relevant clinical setting
• Charge nurse experience is required
• U.S.-based clinical experience required; Canadian experience alone does not qualify
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible as a standard traveler (locals may be considered at an adjusted rate)
• Must submit all time-off requests and scheduling preferences upfront at the time of submission; post-offer RTO requests may not be accommodated

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in cardiac step-down or progressive care settings
• Prior float pool or multi-unit nursing experience
• Familiarity with telemetry monitoring and interpretation
• Experience in short-term acute care hospital environments
