Job Summary

Drive value optimization initiatives across our organization by leading cross-functional teams to analyze, develop, and implement strategies that maximize business value, improve efficiency, and enhance overall performance.

Essential Functions

• Identify key Portfolio-level business and engineering Objectives and Key Results (OKR).
• Initiate and progress Lean Portfolio Management practices in DT portfolio, leveraging experience and proven practices.
• Support Dir Lean Portfolio Management in strategic management of Value Management demand and roadmap.
• Partner with DPM team for Portfolio Roadmap and EPIC OKR adoption and a monthly value dashboard for value streams.
• Implement Portfolio KANBAN ideation to implementation for Portfolio level demand.
• Aid in identifying VMO team and train best practices across the DT Portfolios.
• Lead a team thru the hybrid governance and compliance environment of PLM to LPM is in good standing while striving to relentlessly improve and drive lean processes.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education, training and/or relevant experience. Plus 6 years of relevant work experience.
• SAFE 6.0 LPM Certified

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education, training and/or relevant experience. Plus 8 years of relevant work experience.
• 6-9 years’ experience implementing lean practices/Lean Portfolio Management
• SAFE 6.0 Program Consultant
• EBAS Certified
• Agility Health Radar experience

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills for stakeholder engagement and cross functional collaboration
• Ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights
• Understanding of Lean Portfolio Management principles and value optimization strategies 
• Ability to support training and adoption of portfolio management best practices
• Strong accountability for maintaining standards, governance, and deliverable quality
• Support the development and maintenance of portfolio-wide value management frameworks and tools.
• Ability to conduct financial, operational, and risk analyses to assess value across projects and programs.
• Collaborate with project teams and stakeholders to identify opportunities for value enhancement.
• Assist in the prioritization of projects based on strategic value, ROI, and resource constraints.
• Track and report on key performance indicators related to portfolio value realization.
• Prepare analyses, dashboards, and reports to communicate portfolio value insights to leadership.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of value management processes and practices.
• Stay informed on best practices and industry trends in value management and portfolio optimization.

The salary/hourly range is $103,700.00 – $134,460.00. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. Depending on an employee’s assigned worksite or location, Amtrak may consider a geo-pay differential to be applied to the employee’s base salary. Amtrak may offer additional incentive and pay programs to recognize and reward our employees, including a short-term incentive bonus based upon factors such as individual and company performance that is commensurate with the level of the position.
