General Dentist

A community-focused healthcare organization in California's North Bay, near Healdsburg, is seeking an experienced Dentist to join its established dental program. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity with a strong focus on pediatric and family-centered dentistry. The organization serves patients who may have limited access to traditional dental care, including children, adolescents, individuals with special healthcare needs, and other underserved populations. The position combines clinic-based general dentistry with periodic community outreach services and offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact while working alongside an established dental and support team.


Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive general dentistry services with a strong emphasis on pediatric patients.
• Perform new patient examinations, preventive care, diagnostic imaging, restorative treatment, and uncomplicated extractions.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical findings and patient needs.
• Provide compassionate dental care to children, adolescents, and patients with special healthcare needs.
• Provide limited urgent or emergency dental care to adult patients as appropriate.
• Educate patients and families regarding oral health, prevention, treatment recommendations, and home care.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
• Collaborate with dental staff and other healthcare professionals to support continuity of care.
• Participate periodically in community-based or mobile dental services.
• Support quality, safety, infection-control, and professional standards within the dental program.

Schedule

• Full-time, permanent position
• Monday through Friday
• Approximately 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
• Primarily clinic-based with periodic community outreach/mobile dental responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications

• DDS or DMD degree, or equivalent dental education that meets California licensing requirements.
• Current California Dentist license or active progress toward obtaining California licensure.
• Experienced dentist required. New graduates are not being considered for this opening.
• Strong general dentistry skills.
• Experience providing comprehensive patient assessments and treatment planning.
• Strong communication and patient-education skills.
• Ability to work effectively with children, families, clinical staff, and diverse patient populations.

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of post-graduate clinical experience strongly preferred.
• Previous experience in a community health center, public health clinic, rural healthcare setting, nonprofit dental program, or similar environment.
• Experience treating pediatric patients.
• Experience working with patients with special healthcare needs.
• Spanish-speaking ability is highly preferred.
• Interest in assuming additional clinical leadership responsibilities over time.
• Graduate of a U.S.-accredited dental school preferred.

Practice Environment


This is not a traditional private-practice position. The dental program emphasizes access to care, community health, and serving patients who may otherwise have difficulty obtaining dental services.
