About Arkansas Periodontal & Implant Associates: Arkansas Periodontal and Implant Associates are your periodontists in Arkansas, for quality care and advanced periodontal therapy treatments. We are a well-established periodontal practice devoted to each and every one of our patients and staff members. We educate our patients on how to maintain healthy teeth and gums for a lifetime and work hard to ensure they get the highest level of care on every visit. We have three locations; Fort Smith, Fayetteville, and Rogers. Dr. Pierce Osborne, Dr. Michael Curry, Dr. Wes Shelton, and Dr. Brandon Breard provide a full range of services along with dedicated patient care. Our Dental Assistants have the skills, responsibilities, tasks, and expectations to assist/support the doctors in delivering exceptional care to all patients under the guidance and support of our periodontist.

Working under the direction of the periodontist, the tasks and responsibilities of a Dental Assistant include but are not limited to:

• Provides chair-side clinical support to doctors during periodontal and surgical procedures
• Greet and escort patients to treatment rooms and help them feel comfortable and at ease to ensure a positive patient experience
• Captures and processes radiographs and assists with clinical documentation and charting at the direction of the periodontist
• Maintains strict infection control and sterilization protocols for treatment rooms and for periodontal and surgical procedures
• Provides patient education and post-operative instructions
• Monitors all laboratory cases and ensures they are ready for the next day's schedule
• Works collaboratively with the clinical and administrative team to support overall practice success
• Sets up/breaks down rooms and operatories to ensure a safe environment for the patients and dentists
• Has a "yes mentality" when helping patients
• Makes a positive first impression with patients by phone or in person
• Is a champion of the Arkansas Periodontal & Implant Associates vision and values
• Makes sure all patients have an extraordinary experience
• Holds self accountable for successful completion of projects, job duties, and all company deliverables
• Exhibits outstanding customer service with the patient as the priority; partnering with staff, timely and successfully resolves patient complaints, concerns, and questions
• Completes continuing education as required for self and staff. Follows required HIPAA and OSHA safety procedures, as necessary
• Other duties and responsibilities assigned

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• License/training as required by their state/county/local licensing agency
• X-ray certification as defined by their state/county/local licensing agency

Certifications:

• Current state/county/local Dental Assisting License as defined by licensing agency
• Current x-ray certification/license as defined by licensing agency
