Your best is waiting to be discovered.Day - 10 Hour (United States of America)This is a Stanford Health Care Tri-Valley job.A Brief OverviewThe Clinical Nurse Educator collaborates with department leaders in the provision of safe and quality patient care and professional practice. Function as an expert, practitioner, educator, leader and scientist. They will support hospital initiatives to align with regulatory requirements, improve employee safety, patient safety, emergency response, and efficiencies. Support the clinical competence of employees through leading program initiatives, developing and teaching education programs such as clinical onboarding, in-service, and continuing education programs. Utilize evidence-based practice while focusing on the knowledge and skills required for an employee to perform competently in their assigned area. Develop professional and performance development based on departmental (service line) needs. Participate in setting standards based on evidence-based medicine, best practices, and regulatory requirements. Analyze quality measures, including process measures, patient and employee outcomes, for opportunities to improve and develop program curricula.LocationsStanford Health Care Tri-ValleyWhat you will doPromotes quality patient care by serving as a resource to department leaders and hospital administration regarding evidence-based practicesProvides education to employees based on individual and departmental identified needsMaintains competency in professional development specialtyIncorporates evidence-based practice, regulatory requirements, specialty professional organizations recommended practices when designing curriculum.Develops, implements, and evaluates cost-effective educational programs and materials.Identifies specific needs for, and means to, enhance employee developmentImplements education plans for specific employees based on assessed needsTeaches in formal and informal settings using appropriate methodology and strategies.Mentors students, interns and employeesDevelops clinical competencies that align with job specific performance criteria, evidence-based practice and regulatory requirementsChampions change within clinical practiceIntegrates clinical research, regulatory requirement and evidence-based practice in education and training programs to provide a scientific foundation for professional practiceCollaborates with subject matter experts and department leadership on development and revisions to policies and procedures.Incorporates evidence-based practice, regulatory requirements, specialty professional organizations recommended practices when collaborating on policy, procedures and standardized procedures.Builds and maintains relationships with staff, providers, colleagues and the surrounding communityEmployee must perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the C-I-CARE Standards of the HospitalOther duties as assignedEducation QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university RequiredMaster's Degree in Nursing PreferredExperience Qualifications3+ years to 5 years of experience in clinical nursing Required1+ year to 2 years in planning educational programs and/or teaching in the assigned clinical area RequiredParticipation in professional organizations Preferred2+ years to 3 years Certification in Nurse Professional Development upon hire or obtained within 2 years RequiredCertification in specialty RequiredRequired Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesEffectively interacts with staff from diverse backgroundsAble to manage time and prioritize effectivelyActive membership in Professional Nursing organizations (ANPD and specialty)Demonstrated leadership abilities; able to work under stressful conditionsAbility to read, write and understand English languageProven ability to communicate with all staff across the hospitalStrong interpersonal skillsStrong customer service skillsOrganized and self-drivenStrong understanding of safety, security, and joint commission standards as it pertains to roleFluency in Microsoft SuiteLicenses and CertificationsCurrent American Heart Association Certification for Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers required .CA-RN (Registered Nurse) required .These principles apply to ALL employees:SHC Commitment to Providing an Exceptional Patient & Family ExperienceStanford Health Care sets a high standard for delivering value and an exceptional experience for our patients and families.
