ASCP Certified Lab Assistant/Phlebotomist

Position Overview: This role involves a variety of laboratory duties including drawing blood, managing appointments, data entry, specimen preparation, and equipment maintenance. The individual will perform routine technical tasks under the supervision of a clinical laboratory technologist and provide phlebotomy services such as venipuncture, heelsticks, and fingersticks as ordered by physicians. Responsibilities also include traveling to local nursing homes and businesses for blood collection and health fairs. Education A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Experience Previous office and phlebotomy experience is preferred. The candidate must demonstrate proficiency in drawing blood from patients of all ages within 60 days of starting the position. Requirements BLS (CPR) certification is required or must be obtained within three months of employment.
