Job Description - Director II (226 Days) (RTP20260825-025) Job Description Director II (226 Days) - ( RTP20260825-025 ) Description Lead efforts in designing, implementing, monitoring, supporting, communicating, and continuously improving plans to achieve national, state, and regional postsecondary education and workforce development goals, including programs such as Career and Technical Education (CTE) through active participation in: state and regional education and workforce partnerships, including the North Texas Commission; and district-wide curriculum, program, and other committees that develop programs of study and graduation plans, including district advisory boards. Create, lead, and maintain the district vision of the elementary and middle school Career Exploration Experience (CEE) including the mobile experience that supports all elementary and middle school campuses yearly. Monitor the effectiveness of the CTE programs of study, including industry-based certification attainment, in the district and work with them to meet industry standards and Dallas workforce needs. Work with campuses to plan and implement Academies, Collegiate Academies/P-TECH’s, Early College High Schools, Career Institutes, Career Exploration Experience (CEE), securing resources, and mapping dual credit courses to high school course offerings. Communicate the Career Institutes Project Management plan with all internal and external stakeholders, including goal progress measures, timelines, Career and Technical Education (CTE) Programs of Study, enrollment data, demographics, campus logistics, college and career readiness measures, and labor market information. Yearly plan, initiate, apply, monitor, and report on the Carl D. Perkins federal grant for CTE. Yearly budget and track CTE state funding, PEIMS enrollments, Dual Credit funding, and department grant programs, including but not limited to grants from the Dallas Education Foundation (DEF), National Academy Foundation (NAF), and Capital One. Identify, map, manage, communicate, and work with the Executive Director of Career Readiness to support students through completion of major regional industry-based and postsecondary education-based certification programs, including opportunities for student internships and apprenticeship programs; measure and analyze participation and completion data. Lead Dallas ISD CTE curriculum development efforts aligned to the TEKS to ensure teachers have access to high-quality instructional materials, and assist teachers with identifying and securing appropriate CTE resources. Supervise the activities of the Career and Technical Education department in accordance with district policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work and appraising the performance of direct reports. Work with campuses to implement the Texas Education Agency-approved Career Programs of Study and work with schools to ensure course and program alignment, and industry-based certifications are aligned with the labor market in comprehensive high schools and the Career Institutes. Ensure the district is in compliance with all state, including Texas Education Agency (TEA), and federal regulations and guidelines concerning Dual Credit enrollment, Career and Technical Education, and other department programs. All federally funded incumbents of this position must comply with time and effort reporting requirements through personnel activity reports or periodic certification, as appropriate. Qualifications Required Master's degree in the education field. Preferred Valid Teacher's Certification. Preferred Mid-Management or Principal Certification. Required 10+ years of teaching and/or Administrative Management. Exemplary experience in administrative management capacity and leadership. Proficient in program development, instruction, and implementation. Extensive knowledge and expertise of federal, state, and local laws impacting College & Career Readiness (CCR) and CTE.
