Job Summary and Qualifications As an MRI Technologist, you will perform MRI scans and take radiographs according to the standards and practices set forth by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists to assist in diagnosis or treatment. You will perform Magnetic Resonance procedures to demonstrate cross-sectional anatomical images for interpretation by or at the request of a licensed practitioner. You will provide appropriate patient care and recognize patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure. You will prepare patients for procedures; providing instructions in order to obtain desired results, gain cooperation and minimize anxiety. You will complete required documentation on forms, logs, workstation and Meditech. You will administer contrast using proper technique. You will produce scans of optimal diagnostic quality on patients. You will label images and identify according to protocol. You will communicate pertinent information to interpreting radiologist in a timely manner. Qualifications One–two years’ experience as an MRI Technologist - preferred. Graduate of an educational program in radiology or MRI accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) OR graduate of an American Medical Association approved program in Radiologic Technology. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. American Registry of Radiologic Technologists certification in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (ARRT(MR)). Current Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) certification with Texas Medical Board (TMB) - preferred.
