Ballet Instructor- Montlake Community CenterOverviewStarting Pay: $29.00 – $31.00/hrFull pay range: $29.00 - $39.00/hr (employees may earn higher rates with continued employment depending on ARC pay structure)Level: ExperiencedPosition Type: Part TimeJob Location: Montlake Community Center – 1618 E Calhoun St, Seattle, WA 98112Start: 9/22/26DescriptionIf you have a strong understanding of ballet fundamentals and a passion for teaching, we’d love for you to join our team at Montlake Community Centers.The Ballet Instructor will lead developmentally appropriate ballet lessons focused on strengthening bodies and minds, building foundational technical skills, supporting fine motor development, and fostering a positive and expressive learning environment.Associated Recreation Council (ARC), in partnership with Seattle Parks and Recreation (SPR), provides inclusive, high‑quality recreation, enrichment, and lifelong learning programs for people of all ages.Ballet Instructor duties and responsibilities:• Develop and deliver age‑appropriate ballet lesson plans• Lead and implement weekly ballet classes with a focus on foundational skills and creative expression• Set up and clean up studio space before and after each lesson• Maintain a positive, supportive, and safe learning environment• Supervise participants and maintain professional class standards• Complete administrative tasks such as attendance and incident reports• Communicate professionally with ARC staff and site supervisorsBallet Instructor qualifications:• Must be at least 18 years of age• Experience teaching ballet• Experience working with class participants in recreational or educational settings• Strong communication and classroom management skills• Ability to pass a criminal background checkBenefits:ARC Paid Sick and Safe Time (PSST)We are actively interviewing for this role, so if this position is a good fit for you and you’d like to learn more about it, please apply now.EEO/ADAARC is an Equal Opportunity employer and values diverse perspectives and life experiences.
