Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring an active IA or compact license and 1-2 years of acute care experience.

Details

• Works in the Emergency Room of a 217-licensed-bed regional health center
• Unit has 17 beds and sees approximately 40 patient visits per day
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Primarily adult and geriatric patient population
• Uses MediTech EHR system
• Day shift schedule from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Works every other weekend
• Call coverage required to support 24/7 daily volume needs

Requirements

• Active RN license (Iowa or Compact) required
• Current BLS (AHA), ACLS, and TNCC certifications required
• 1-2 years of RN experience in an acute care facility required
• Iowa SING background check required, including criminal and child abuse portions with no exceptions
• All background checks (county and state) must be fully cleared prior to start; instant or statewide searches not accepted
• Mandatory reporter certification required for both child and adult
• 10-panel drug screening required, including opiates
• Titers required within the last 12 months for MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, and TB

• Facility offers a wide range of services including ED, Critical Care, Med/Surg, Acute Rehab, OB, Pediatrics, Cath Lab, Diagnostics, Radiology, Wound Care, Pain Clinic, and Sleep Lab
• Housing options available for this assignment
• Monday or Tuesday start dates accepted
• Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
• Candidates cannot be employed elsewhere full time during the assignment
• Located in Ottumwa, IA, known for its river trails and status as the Video Game Capital of the World
