Entry-Level System AdministratorLocation: San Jose, CA Duration: 12 Months (Contract) Work Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PMAbout the RoleWe are seeking a motivated Entry-Level System Administrator to support day-to-day IT infrastructure operations. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their career to gain hands-on experience with Linux systems, virtualization, and network environments in a fast-paced setting.Key ResponsibilitiesInstall, configure, and maintain Linux and Windows serversMonitor system performance, availability, and securitySupport virtualization environments (VMware/KVM)Manage user accounts, permissions, and access (LDAP)Perform system backups, patching, and updatesAssist with storage and network device management (Cisco)Troubleshoot system, hardware, and software issuesSupport tools such as Jenkins, Git, and AnsibleMaintain system documentation and proceduresAssist with server setup, rack and stack, and hardware upgradesRequired SkillsBasic knowledge of Linux (Ubuntu, CentOS, Red Hat)Familiarity with VMware or virtualization technologiesUnderstanding of networking concepts and Cisco devicesExposure to shell scriptingStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsGood communication and teamwork abilitiesNice to HaveExperience with DevOps tools (Jenkins, Git, Ansible)1+ year of system administration or IT support experienceCertifications such as CompTIA Linux+, Security+, or RHCSABasic understanding of security practices and system monitoringAdditional RequirementsAbility to lift and move hardware (up to 50 lbs)Willingness to support after-hours or weekend activities as needed
