About the Role

Neopod Systems is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our Accounting team in New Braunfels, Texas.

In this role, you’ll support day-to-day accounting activities, month-end close, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and project-related accounting. You’ll work closely with the Controller, project managers, and other departments to help maintain accurate financial records and ensure accounting information is complete, timely, and well supported.

What You’ll Do

• Assist with monthly close, including preparing journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and other balance sheet accounts.
• Assist with accounts payable, employee expense reports, and vendor-related accounting activities.
• Maintain supporting schedules and documentation for financial reporting, audits, and internal control reviews.
• Support insurance audits by gathering and organizing requested financial records and documentation.
• Review and reconcile insurance audit results, researching and resolving discrepancies as needed.
• Assist with invoice processing and recordkeeping, ensuring documentation is accurate, complete, and properly maintained.
• Assist with job-cost and work-in-progress (WIP) accounting as needed.
• Research account discrepancies and work with the appropriate departments to resolve outstanding items.
• Support the Controller with reporting, account analysis, and other accounting projects.
• Help strengthen segregation of duties and ensure transactions have appropriate review and supporting documentation.
• Work with project managers and other departments to obtain accurate and timely accounting information

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
• At least 1–2 years of accounting experience , preferably in a construction, manufacturing, project-based, or similar environment.
• Experience with general ledger accounting, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Familiarity with job costing, WIP accounting, and percentage-of-completion revenue recognition is preferred.
• Experience with Odoo, SAP Concur, QuickBooks, and/or OneStream is a plus.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Dependable, organized, and able to work independently while asking questions when clarification is needed.
• Strong communication and follow-up skills.
• Ability to work effectively across departments.

Success in this role means completing assigned reconciliations and close activities accurately and on time, maintaining well-supported accounting records, proactively researching discrepancies, and developing a strong understanding of Neopod Systems’ project and job-cost accounting processes.
