Key Responsibilities:

• Provide safe, compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to patients in the Emergency Department.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, triage, and ongoing monitoring based on acuity.
• Recognize changes in patient condition and respond promptly to emergent situations.
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately according to orders and protocols.
• Initiate and assist with emergency interventions, procedures, and treatments.
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, technicians, and other team members.
• Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation in the electronic medical record.
• Prioritize care effectively in a fast-paced emergency department environment.
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, follow-up care, and discharge instructions.
• Follow hospital policies, infection-control standards, patient-safety procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Provide professional, patient-centered care to individuals with a wide range of medical and emergency conditions.
• Demonstrate strong clinical judgment, communication skills, adaptability, and teamwork throughout the assignment.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.
• Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse license eligible for practice in Alabama.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
• Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) or Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification.
• Strong assessment, prioritization, critical-thinking, and emergency-response skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Preferred Skills:

• 12 months of Emergency Department or Emergency Room nursing experience.
• Experience caring for patients across a broad range of acuity levels.
• Previous travel or contract nursing experience.
• Additional emergency nursing certifications.
