Emergency Medicine Physician

We are seeking an Emergency Medicine Physician for an ongoing locum opportunity in Bristol, Tennessee . This position offers coverage in a busy Level II Trauma Center with approximately 47,000 annual ED visits and substantial daily physician and APP coverage.

• High-volume Emergency Department
• Epic EMR
• No telehealth

Coverage Model

• 38 physician coverage hours per day
• 33 APP coverage hours per day
• Physician supervision of Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants

Responsibilities

• Provide Emergency Medicine coverage in a high-volume ED
• Evaluate and manage a broad range of emergency presentations
• Provide appropriate Emergency Medicine care in a Level II Trauma setting
• Serve as supervising physician for NPs and PAs

Requirements

• MD or DO
• Graduate of an accredited medical or osteopathic school
• Completion of an Emergency Medicine residency of at least 3 years
• Board Certified or Board Eligible through ABEM, ABFM, ABIM, ABPS, or AOA
• Active unrestricted Tennessee medical license
• Active DEA with a Tennessee address
• DEA Schedules II, IIN, III, IIIN, IV and V
• ECFMG certification required for international medical graduates
• New graduates accepted
• Emergency Medicine residency graduates within the past 12 months will be considered

Certifications

• ACLS required
• ATLS required
• PALS required if not Board Certified in Emergency Medicine
• NRP required for non-ABEM physicians

Ideal Candidate

An Emergency Medicine Physician comfortable working in a high-volume Level II Trauma Center and collaborating with a well-supported physician and APP team. Experienced physicians as well as recent Emergency Medicine residency graduates are encouraged to apply, provided all required Tennessee licensure, DEA, and certification requirements are met.
