We're seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join a fast-paced accounting team supporting a large corporate environment. This role offers hands-on exposure to full-cycle accounting, a 4-day month-end close, and opportunities to partner across the business. Key Responsibilities:

We're seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join a fast-paced accounting team supporting a large corporate environment. This role offers hands-on exposure to full-cycle accounting, a 4-day month-end close, and opportunities to partner across the business. Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and reclasses to the general ledger
- Support month-end close activities and account reconciliations
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
- Review and reconcile vendor invoices, including transportation and disposal-related expenses
- Assist with inventory and corporate accounting projects
- Analyze financial data and prepare reports using Excel and reporting tools
- Partner with operations, vendors, and internal stakeholders to support accounting processes
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies
Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of accounting experience (corporate accounting preferred)
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, journal entries, and reconciliations
- Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas, filters)
- Experience working with large datasets and financial analysis
- ERP experience (Oracle, AS400, or similar) preferred
- Power BI and/or SQL exposure is a plus
- Transportation industry experience is helpful but not required
- Solutions-oriented, resourceful, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills and comfortable interacting with vendors and cross-functional teams
