Bookkeeper / Office Manager Location: Madison, NJ Are you an organized, detail-oriented accounting professional who enjoys managing both financial responsibilities and office operations? Our client is seeking a Bookkeeper / Office Manager to join their team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys a diverse role, taking ownership of bookkeeping functions while helping support the day-to-day operations of the office. Key Responsibilities Bookkeeping & Finance Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including vendor invoices, check processing, client invoicing, and collections. Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations. Prepare monthly financial reports, including profit & loss statements and balance sheets. Maintain accurate general ledger records and assist with financial reporting. Handle sales tax payments, 1099 preparation, and compliance-related activities. Support year-end close and audit preparation. Office Management & Administration Oversee office supplies, vendor relationships, and equipment maintenance. Maintain organized digital and physical filing systems. Manage correspondence, calendars, and administrative processes. Provide support to ensure smooth daily office operations. Qualifications 2+ years of experience in bookkeeping and office administration. Strong knowledge of accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or similar platforms. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word. Understanding of GAAP principles, general ledger accounting, and financial reporting. Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks. Excellent communication skills and ability to maintain confidentiality. High school diploma required; degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business is a plus.
