Secondary Math Teacher (2026-27)

Job Description Job Title: Secondary School Math Teacher Reports to: Site Administrator(s) Compensation: Teacher's Salary Schedule Overtime Status: Exempt Starting Date: Immediately Position Type: Full‑Time Position Summary: Creating an exciting, and 21st century secondary math program and a class environment favorable to learning and personal growth; establishing effective rapport with pupils; motivating pupils to develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for secondary math education, in accordance with each pupil's ability; and establishing good relationships with parents and other staff members. Minimum Qualifications/Job Requirements: Bachelor's Degree (required) Oklahoma Teaching Certification in Secondary Math, either Intermediate or Advanced Math. Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with others; demonstrate self discipline and initiative; follow state and district guidelines. Duties and Responsibilities: Teach mathematics to pupils in a classroom, using the course of study adopted by the Oklahoma State Department of Education and Sapulpa’s Board of Education, and any other appropriate learning activities supported by the district/site administration. Instruct pupils in citizenship and basic subject matter specified in state law and administrative regulations and procedures of the school district. Develop lesson plans and instructional materials and provide individualized and small group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each pupil with the identified objectives. Translate lesson plans into learning experiences to best utilize available instructional time. Utilize grading patterns that are fairly administered and based on identified criteria. Establish and maintain standards of pupil behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere; treat pupils with respect and dignity. Evaluate pupils’ academic and social growth, keep appropriate records, and prepare progress reports. Communicate with parents through various methods to discuss pupil progress and interpret the school program; interact with pupils, staff, and parents in a positive and professional manner. Identify pupil needs and cooperate with other professional staff members to assess and help pupils solve health, attitude, and learning problems. Establish rapport with pupils and provide a pleasant, safe, and orderly climate conducive to learning. Actively participate in full implementation of the SPS digital learning model for student learning. Maintain professional competence through in‑service education activities provided by the district and self‑selected professional growth activities. Supervise pupils in out‑of‑classroom activities during the assigned working day. Extra duty responsibilities may apply to this position. Integrate technology resources into the curriculum using the district’s technology initiative plans. Working Conditions: Professional classroom environment. Frequent, in‑district travel between district sites. Some travel may be required.
