7th Grade Mathematics Teacher - Clyde Boyd Middle School 2026-2027 Job Description Position available for the 2026-2027 school year 305 West 35 Street Sand Springs, OK 74063 Reports to: Principal and/or other Supervisor (Dakota Nealy, Principal) Status: Exempt Position Summary Create a flexible program and a class environment favorable to learning and personal growth; establish effective rapport with pupils; motivate pupils to develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for education following each pupil's ability; and establish good relationships with parents and with other staff members. Essential Duties Teaches middle school mathematics to pupils in a classroom, using the course of study adopted by the Oklahoma State Department of Education and Sand Springs Board of Education, and any other appropriate learning activities. Instructs pupils in citizenship and essential subject matter specified in the school district's state law and administrative regulations and procedures. Develop lesson plans and instructional materials and provide individualized and small group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each pupil with the identified objectives. Translates lesson plans into learning experiences to best utilize the available time for instruction. Utilizes grading patterns that are fairly administered and based on identified criteria. Establishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom. Treats pupils with respect and dignity. Evaluates pupils' academic and social growth, keeps appropriate records, and prepares progress reports. Communicate with parents through conferences and other means to discuss pupils' progress and interpret the school program. Interact with pupils, staff, and parents positively and professionally. Identifies pupil needs and cooperates with other professional staff members in assessing and helping pupils solve health, attitude, and learning problems. Establish rapport with pupils and provide a pleasant, safe, and orderly climate conducive to learning. Maintains professional competence through in-service education activities provided by the district and self-selected professional growth activities. Supervise and monitor students during out-of-classroom activities during the assigned working day, which may include but are not limited to cafeteria duty, field trips, playground duty, hallway monitoring, etc. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities Required) A bachelor's in education or a related field is required. Oklahoma Teaching Certification in subjects listed below or subjects or Alternative Teaching Certification approved by the Oklahoma State Department of Education is required. Mathematics-Middle/Junior High School; Middle-Level Mathematics; Elementary Education; Intermediate Mathematics; Advanced/Secondary Mathematics. Must possess the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Must possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, parents, and the community. Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with others, demonstrate self-discipline and initiative, and follow state and district guidelines.
