Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct segments of occupational therapy treatment programs to restore and improve physical, social, and mental function.
• Develop individualized treatment plans and apply appropriate clinical techniques and tools.
• Provide therapy interventions and ensure progress toward established goals using standard protocols and documentation.
• Establish discharge plans and communicate these to patients, families, and the interprofessional team.
• Complete comprehensive, accurate clinical documentation within established deadlines.
• Supervise assigned therapy assistants and participate in interdisciplinary care planning and rounds as a co-leader of patient groups.
• Maintain patient safety and quality standards while coordinating care across care transitions.

Requirements

• Education: Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy or Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD) required; licensure in all applicable states of practice.
• Licensure: Occupational Therapy license in California (and any applicable states) required.
• Certifications: Current CPR/BLS certification from an approved vendor.
• Experience: At least two years of recent experience in the field; acute care experience preferred.
• Additional: Valid driver’s license (minimum age 21) and ability to work in an inpatient, short-term acute care environment.
• Eligibility: Must meet all state and organizational requirements to practice as an OT in the assigned setting.
