Debt Collector

This position focuses on post-judgment collections for civil cases filed in General District and Circuit Court. Prior experience in collections is required, preferably in a legal setting, and be comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Responsibilities Contact debtors by phone, email, and mail to negotiate and collect on outstanding balances Manage and track enforcement of judgments, including wage garnishments, bank levies, and payment agreements Draft and send post-judgment correspondence and legal documents under attorney supervision Communicate professionally with debtors, clients, court clerks, and attorneys Maintain accurate records and update case management software regularly Monitor payment plans and follow up on delinquent accounts Qualifications Previous experience in legal debt collection required Familiarity with General District Court and Circuit Court procedures and post-judgment enforcement tools Strong communication and negotiation skills High attention to detail and strong organizational abilities Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with legal case management software JST is a plus Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism Prior experience working in a law firm preferred What We Offer Supportive work environment with opportunities for growth Paid time off, holidays, and potential for benefits (health, dental, etc.) Hands-on experience with legal procedures and court filings Please note that this job description is not exhaustive and additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
