In order to address the most critical needs of our clients, RSM US LLP established the Integrated Cloud Consulting (IC) practice, comprised of more than 300 professionals dedicated to serving the cloud and infrastructure platform needs of our clients. This group includes experienced consultants located throughout the globe. We serve a diverse client base within a variety of industries and are focused on meeting our clients where they need us most across a variety of domains - helping them realize their stated outcomes through our cloud advisory, implementation and operations. Position Overview We are seeking an individual with both broad and deep cloud implementation and migration experience with a focus on complex multi‑cloud and hybrid environments to join our team and lead the continued growth of our cloud practice serving RSM clients in a variety of industries and geographic locations. The successful candidate will have solid working knowledge of cloud leading practices, understanding of cloud architecture models, leading vendor products and solutions, cloud technology trends, security design and innovation as well as experience leveraging this knowledge to benefit global organizations. The candidate will also possess strong leadership traits and exhibit a proven track record of developing, launching and operating cloud consulting practices. This individual will ultimately be partly responsible for the long‑term vision of the cloud practice, including the focus on developing and expanding the portfolio of solutions that are available to clients. Key Responsibilities Develop strong working relationships with clients built on understanding their businesses, the challenges they face and the outcomes they are looking to achieve. Identify, pursue and close new opportunities with both existing and new clients. Provide subject‑matter knowledge to support the efforts of the broader consulting practice. Work across multiple client account teams within a wide variety of industries. Lead multiple team engagements simultaneously, including several threads of complex implementation and migration engagements. Lead a global team of cloud specialists, develop go‑to‑market solutions, work with industry‑leading cloud providers and technology vendors, and champion the cloud practice throughout the firm. Experience (10+ years) Confidently speaking with knowledgeable clients on the topic of cloud strategy, architecture, workload migration planning and common security practices such as landing zones. Acting as trusted advisor to senior technology leaders on cloud engineering activities. Identifying and building cloud‑based solutions to drive growth in project‑based and managed services. Developing cloud strategy for clients that includes cloud value framework, multi‑cloud strategy, and cloud program office to drive cloud transformation. Developing application rationalization approaches to create cloud migration roadmap. Designing, architecting, implementing and supporting simple to complex enterprise cloud solutions for a variety of business use cases and requirements; guiding and mentoring clients through the entire process. Providing principal engineering support to various teams throughout a client’s digital transformation to a cloud native organization. Spearheading strategic cost optimization initiatives, achieving multi‑million dollar savings through infrastructure cleanups, license negotiations and dynamic scaling. Understanding common cloud deployment models (private, public, hybrid) including platform types (IaaS, SaaS, PaaS). Executing solution delivery engagements for both small and large cloud environments. Building eminence in the cloud industry through frequent publishing and speaking on relevant topics. Managing relationships with major cloud platform providers – AWS, Azure, GCP – including working with partner representatives, maintaining executive level relationships and cultivating sales channels. Recruiting top cloud talent through your network and eminence activities. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or graduate degree OR 10+ years of related work experience. High proficiency with popular cloud technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure). High proficiency with the tools and techniques for securing multi‑cloud and hybrid environments. Experience with private, public and hybrid cloud deployments. Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally. Ability to interact effectively with internal and external resources at all organizational levels. Excellent project management, organization, and follow‑up skills. Strong critical thinking and problem‑solving skills. Must be a team player; able to work in virtual teams and independently. Willingness and ability to travel globally. Strong financial and business acumen, and ability to speak about technology in the language of business. Curiosity about business and technology; motivated with a desire to learn. Preferred Industry Experience Financial Services and Insurance Consumer Products Technology Industrials Technical Experience Cloud Platform Expertise – Deep hands‑on experience with one or more of the major hyperscalers (AWS, Azure, GCP) including core services like compute, storage, networking and managed services. Able to articulate cloud strategy and understand existing client architectures and propose new or improved solutions across platforms, with demonstrable understanding of platform‑specific capabilities, pricing models and limitations. Infrastructure and Architecture – Strong foundation with on‑premises infrastructure, virtualization (VMWare, Hyper‑V), networking protocols, storage architectures and data center strategy and operations. Understanding of hybrid and multi‑cloud connectivity patterns. Experience with infrastructure‑as‑code tools like Terraform, ARM templates or CloudFormation. Application Modernization and Migration – Strong understanding of cloud‑native, modern and legacy application portfolios and experience with migration strategies. Understanding of standard application patterns and the use of containers (Docker, Kubernetes), microservices, serverless and API management. Security & Compliance – Knowledge of cloud security frameworks, identity and access management, network security, data encryption and compliance requirements. Understanding of zero‑trust architectures, security posture management and regulatory requirements. Automation & DevSecOps – Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, configuration management, observability and DevSecOps practices.
