Benefits Specialist

This position is responsible for assisting with and providing backup for the payroll and benefit processes. This position will serve as the primary point of contact for employees enrolled in and providers of the Altoona Area School District benefits program. Additional duties include, but are not limited to, documenting, reconciling, monitoring, and reporting AASD payroll and benefits. QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE AND/OR TRAINING High School diploma/GED, required. Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Human Resources, Accounting, or a related field, preferred. 5-7 years experience working as an Administrative Assistant or in an office environment with experience in benefits administration, preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Office software applications; advanced skills with Word & Excel. LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS Must have a valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License.
