CNC Mechanical TechnicianAustin Industrial provides premier self-perform maintenance, construction, and soft craft service to leading industrial companies across the U.S. An industry leader for more than 60 years, we offer single-source solutions to our customers in the oil, gas, chemical, food, agriculture, power, and manufacturing industries.The CNC Mechanical Technician is responsible for the repair, maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of the mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and structural systems of Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machine tools. This role ensures the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of CNC equipment to minimize downtime and support production goals.Specific duties and responsibilities include:Perform routine, preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on CNC machine tools, including 3-axis and 5-axis mills, CNC lathes, routers, and other precision machining equipment.Diagnose and repair mechanical failures involving ball screws, linear rails, guideways, bearings, spindles, gearboxes, couplings, drive mechanisms, and other machine components.Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including pumps, valves, actuators, regulators, cylinders, manifolds, and fluid delivery systems.Inspect, align, level, and adjust machine components to maintain proper machine accuracy and performance.Perform machine tear-downs, rebuilds, retrofits, and component replacements as required.Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, assembly drawings, technical manuals, and pneumatic/hydraulic schematics to support maintenance and repair activities.Conduct equipment inspections and document maintenance activities, findings, and repair recommendations.Collaborate with production, engineering, and maintenance personnel to identify root causes of equipment failures and implement corrective actions.Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations, company procedures, and industry standards.Maintain tools, equipment, spare parts inventory, and a clean work environment.Qualifications include:High school diploma or GED required.Associate degree or technical trade certification in Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, Machine Tool Technology, or a related field strongly preferred.Experience maintaining and repairing CNC machine tools and industrial manufacturing equipment.Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, bearings, drive systems, and machine tool components.Ability to read and interpret complex mechanical blueprints, assembly drawings, and pneumatic/hydraulic schematics.Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills.Ability to work independently and in a team environment while managing multiple priorities.Valid Driver's LicensePreferred skills include:Experience with CNC machine rebuilds, precision alignments, and spindle replacement procedures.Knowledge of preventive maintenance programs and predictive maintenance techniques.Familiarity with machine tool manufacturers and industrial production environments.Strong commitment to safety, quality, and equipment reliability.Physical, mental, and environmental requirements include:Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position.Employees must be able to sit, stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, and use hands and fingers to perform assigned duties.
