Full-time Middle School, English Lead Teacher should demonstrate knowledge and internalization of the core beliefs of Montessori philosophy: respect for the individual learner; preparation of self and the environment; fostering independence, order and concentration in the student; respect for and recognition of sensitive periods, planes of development and intrinsic motivation of the student.

Candidates should demonstrate fundamental communication skills to support the social and emotional development of students and to communicate with parents about student's social/emotional and academic progress.

Applicant Qualifications:

·        Bachelor's Degree

·        Teaching License

·        Secondary I-II Montessori Certification preferred but not required.

·        Authorized to work in the US.

·        Strong interpersonal and collaboration/teamwork skills.

·        While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, bend, knee or crouch.

Duties & Responsibilities:

·        Prepare lesson plans that fulfill the requirements of AMS and ISBE.

·        Prepare lessons that accommodate diverse student needs and abilities.

·        Ongoing assessment of student’s progress.

·        Create a classroom environment that encourages learning and growth.

·        Designs and uses instructional strategies, innovations, and activities that are observation- and
research-based, meet student needs, and reflect Montessori best practice.

·        Uses various methods of communication to discuss student growth with parents.

·        Implements accommodations and interventions to help students meet expectations for student.

·        Will lead one annual capstone travel experience for middle school students, alternating between an international destination and Washington, D.C.

·        Support students and families with the high school application process.

·        Support and enforce school policies and regulations.

·        Excellent written and oral communication skills.

·        Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
