Gibbs-California Wild Rice is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Technician for the upcoming rice harvest season in Live Oak, CA. In this vital seasonal role, you will ensure our processing equipment and in-house vehicle fleet operate at peak performance during our high-demand period. This position offers consistent 12-hour shifts and ample required overtime, providing a fantastic opportunity to maximize your earnings while working in a dynamic agricultural environment.

Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive maintenance and repair on all in-house vehicles, including forklifts, dump trucks, and tractors.
• Execute preventative maintenance and necessary repairs on all processing equipment.
• Conduct in-house fabrication tasks, including welding, cutting, and grinding as required.
• Implement safety lockouts and equipment shutdowns to ensure a safe working environment.
• Work efficiently in demanding environmental conditions, including high ambient temperatures, dust, and potential chemical exposure.

Working hours: 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM (Various Shifts Available)

Skills:

• Previous experience specifically maintaining agricultural or heavy processing equipment.
• Familiarity with safety protocols such as Lockout/Tagout (LOTO).
• Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-temperature work environment.

Education: High School

Experience: 1-4 years

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in mechanical repair and troubleshooting.
• Demonstrated proficiency in fabrication techniques, particularly welding, cutting, and grinding.
• Availability to work a seasonal schedule consisting primarily of 12-hour shifts, with flexibility for short-notice schedule changes and required overtime.
• Willingness and ability to work safely in environments with extreme temperatures, dust, and hazardous chemicals.
