PSAB BOSS: Plumber (Water and Fuels Systems) The Prince Sultan Air Base (PSAB) Plumber/Water and Fuels Systems Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, inspecting, and repairing plumbing, water, wastewater, fire suppression, and backflow prevention systems and components in accordance with company policies and requirements. Responsibilities Serve as an integral team member, cooperating with U.S. and Saudi Arabian forces and sharing information with other team members as required. Report to the Foreman or General Foreman and receive assignments and instructions. Install, service, and repair all facets of plumbing, including water heaters, urinals, toilets, shower units, pipes, fittings, valves, and fixtures. Provide leadership, instruction, and guidance to lower-level craftsmen, and reassign delegated work as needed. Maintain records, tools, equipment, and perform cleanup and housekeeping activities. Assemble, install, and repair pipes, fittings, and fixtures for heating, water, and drainage systems according to specifications and plumbing codes. Use couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, plastic solvent, caulking, soldering, brazing, and welding equipment to assemble pipe sections. Cut openings in structures to accommodate pipes and fittings using hand and power tools. Fill pipes or fixtures with water or air and observe pressure gauges to detect and locate leaks. Hang steel supports from ceiling joists to hold pipes in place. Install underground storm, sanitary, and water piping systems and extend piping to connect fixtures. Locate and mark positions of pipe installations, connections, passage holes, and fixtures using measuring instruments such as rulers and levels. Measure, cut, and thread pipe using hand and power tools or machines such as pipe cutters and threading machines. Repair and maintain plumbing, replacing defective washers, mending broken pipes, and clearing clogged drains. Maintain knowledge of water heaters, pop-off valves, relief valves, and heating elements. Study building plans and inspect structures to assess material and equipment needs, establish installation sequences, and plan around obstructions such as electrical wiring. Review blueprints, building codes, and specifications to determine work details and procedures. Observe and follow all safety rules and procedures, wearing required personal safety equipment. Perform other duties and activities as directed. Ensure successful delivery of services to approximately 4,000 personnel. Material & Equipment Directly Used May be exposed to potentially hazardous conditions requiring hard hats, gloves, steel-toed boots, hearing protection, safety glasses, and other PPE. May be required to push, pull, and lift heavy equipment. Use of land mobile radios, cell phones, laptops, and other devices to maintain contact and accountability of work activities. Working Environment Work will be indoors and outdoors. Exposure to heat, cold, dust, noise, and chemicals may occur. Overtime and shift work may be required depending on contractual needs and occasional to frequent travel. Employee must comply with all Federal, State, and Local regulations and published company work rules as well as written instructions. Task-specific work environment training may be provided. Must be prepared to function in a wartime or contingency environment to support U.S. interests. Physical Activities Lifting up to 35 lb, team lifting up to 50 lb, climbing, extended sitting or standing, stooping, stretching, and bending. May require wearing personal protective equipment such as hearing and eye protection, hard hat, steel-toed boots, and individual protective equipment including Level III/IV body armor, helmets, clothing, reflective vests, and sound suppression devices. Day-to-day requirements may involve standard office activities such as sitting, standing, attending meetings, using keyboard and mouse, lifting and carrying less than 20 lb frequently. Moderate physical exertion including walking to operating areas and walking up stairs. Basic Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent. Preferred USAF AFSC 3E4X1 Water and Fuels Systems Maintenance. Completion of USAF AFSC 3E4X1 Water and Fuels Systems Maintenance or other equivalent DoD school highly desired. U.S. citizenship with a current U.S. driver’s license. Passport book with at least 13 months of remaining validity and 6 blank visa/stamp pages. Valid U.S. SECRET Security Clearance for the duration of the contract. Fluency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English. Must meet CENTCOM MOD-15 theater requirements. Experience 4 years of experience delivering DoD BASE OPERATING SUPPORT‑INSTALLATION (BOS‑I) or similar work in an overseas or contingency environment. USAF experience highly desired. Skills Pro‑active, well organized, results‑oriented, and team player. Computer skills including good working knowledge of Word, Excel, and Outlook. Able and willing to work long hours to meet mission requirements. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills. Experience in contingency environments and knowledge of government contracts.
