About the Opportunity We are looking for a detail-driven Logistics Coordinator to join our team in an offsite role embedded at a customer facility in Aurora, IL. You will serve as The Custom Companies' on-location representative, acting as the primary day-to-day logistics contact for our customer while collaborating closely with our internal teams across procurement, sales, and warehouse. What You Will Do Logistics Management – Plan, execute, and oversee daily logistics operations including transportation, warehousing, and distribution. Coordinate with carriers and suppliers to schedule and track shipments. Manage routing and scheduling to ensure on-time delivery performance. Documentation and Compliance – Prepare and maintain accurate shipping, receiving, and inventory documentation. Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and company policies. Resolve issues related to shipping documentation, including customs where applicable. Supplier and Carrier Coordination – Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, carriers, and stakeholders. Negotiate contracts and rates to optimize cost and service levels. Resolve delays or issues with suppliers and carriers promptly and professionally. Process Improvement – Identify and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs. Analyze logistics data and performance metrics to drive continuous improvement. Apply best practices to streamline daily operations. Customer Service – Ensure timely, accurate deliveries and provide outstanding customer support. Respond to customer inquiries and proactively communicate shipment updates. Serve as the on-site logistics liaison at the customer facility. Problem Resolution – Address logistics challenges such as delays, damages, and discrepancies proactively. Partner with internal teams to troubleshoot and resolve operational issues. What We Are Looking For 2 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or a similar role. Strong organizational and multitasking skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and logistics software. Ability to analyze data and generate clear, actionable reports. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. Preferred: Relevant certifications such as APICS or CLTD. Experience with NetSuite work environment. Position Details This position is offsite, embedded full-time at a customer facility in Aurora, IL. The role involves a mix of desk-based work and time on an active manufacturing floor. PPE including closed-toed shoes is required in plant areas.
