Databricks Manager

This is a remote position.

• Lead and manage multiple Databricks delivery teams across enterprise data initiatives.
  
• Own end-to-end delivery of Databricks programs, ensuring projects meet scope, schedule, quality, and budget expectations.
  
• Define delivery strategy, execution plans, milestones, and resource requirements.
  
• Provide technical and managerial leadership to Databricks, data engineering, and cloud teams.
  
• Partner with enterprise architects, engineering leaders, product owners, and business stakeholders to define solutions and priorities.
  
• Oversee implementation of Databricks Lakehouse, Apache Spark, Delta Lake, and cloud data platforms.
  
• Manage project/program risks, dependencies, issues, and escalations.
  
• Establish delivery standards, engineering best practices, governance, and quality processes.
  
• Track program KPIs, delivery metrics, resource utilization, and overall project health.
  
• Mentor and develop technical leads, architects, engineers, and delivery managers.
  
• Coordinate cross-functional teams across data engineering, cloud, DevOps, analytics, security, and business functions.
  
• Drive continuous improvement in delivery processes, automation, scalability, and operational efficiency.
  
• Manage client and stakeholder communications, including executive-level status reporting.
  
• Support hiring, team building, capacity planning, and resource allocation.
  
• Identify opportunities for modernization and optimization of existing data platforms.
  
• Ensure adherence to security, compliance, data governance, and enterprise architecture standards
  
  
  

Requirements

• 15+ years of IT experience with strong delivery/program management experience
  

• Proven experience managing Databricks delivery teams and large technical teams
  

• Strong hands-on knowledge of Databricks, Apache Spark, Delta Lake & Lakehouse Architecture
  

• Experience with Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform
  

• Strong background in Data Engineering, ETL/ELT, Data Warehousing & Cloud Data Platforms
  

• Experience managing multiple concurrent projects, budgets, resources, risks & timelines
  

• Strong Agile/Scrum delivery experience
  

• Experience leading distributed/global teams
  

• Excellent stakeholder, client & executive communication skills
  

• Experience with enterprise-scale data modernization/cloud migration programs is a plus
  

• Nice to have: Unity Catalog, Databricks Workflows/Lakeflow, Kafka, CI/CD, Git & Data Governance
