This role focuses on comprehensive machine repair and industrial maintenance within a manufacturing environment. You will troubleshoot, tear down, rebuild, and install a wide range of machinery, including CNC equipment, metal stamping presses, plastic injection machines, steel and plastic processing equipment, and grinding machines. The position involves working on motors, valves, pumps, gears, hydraulics, pneumatics, chains, grinders, and automation systems, as well as performing general millwright duties and equipment maintenance. You will partner closely with a Journeyman Electrician, contribute to projects at various industrial sites, and handle rigging and welding tasks as needed.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair a variety of manufacturing machinery, including CNC, metal stamping, plastic injection, steel and plastic processing, and grinding equipment.
• Perform complete machine tear downs, rebuilds, and installations to ensure reliable and efficient operation.
• Conduct repairs and maintenance on motors, valves, pumps, gears, hydraulics, pneumatics, chains, grinders, and automation systems.
• Carry out general millwright and industrial maintenance tasks on equipment in large manufacturing facilities.
• Rig and move machinery safely when required, supporting equipment relocations and installations.
• Work on different machines and equipment regularly rather than servicing the same unit each day.
• Collaborate closely with a Journeyman Electrician to coordinate mechanical and electrical work on projects.
• Support maintenance activities on industrial sites, including relocating and replacing equipment for 7080% of the time.
• Assist with installation and construction work for new equipment, expansions, and new buildings for the remaining portion of time.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with team members and site personnel in a union facility environment.
• Remain open to working approximately one weekend per month to provide coverage as needed.
• Travel to various project sites, primarily during the week, and participate in on-site work as part of a field-based team.
• Meet at the shop in the morning to ride to job sites with the foreman, or meet at nearby job locations when appropriate.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures while working in large industrial facilities.
• Utilize welding skills when required to support repairs, installations, and equipment modifications.

Essential Skills

• Proven experience in machine repair within industrial or manufacturing environments.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for mechanical systems and production equipment.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand and work on complex machinery.
• Hands-on experience with hydraulics and pneumatic systems, including repair and maintenance.
• Experience in rigging machinery and safely moving equipment.
• Ability to perform industrial maintenance and general millwright duties.
• Capability to work effectively in partnership with a Journeyman Electrician on joint projects.
• Willingness to work approximately one weekend per month for coverage.
• Comfort with traveling to project sites for a significant portion of the year.
• Effective communication skills, especially in a union facility environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Journeyman card in a relevant mechanical trade is a plus.
• Welding experience is highly desirable and considered a strong asset.
• Experience working in large industrial facilities performing maintenance and equipment relocations.
• Experience in installation and construction of new equipment, expansions, or new buildings.
• Ability to progress into a foreman-level role after demonstrating capability during the initial training period.

Work Environment

This is a direct hire, first-shift position with a typical schedule of Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 3:30 or 4:30 p.m., resulting in 9- to 10-hour workdays. You will usually work about one weekend per month, with daily end times varying depending on project demands. Work is performed primarily at large industrial facilities, where you will spend approximately 7080% of your time on maintenance tasks such as relocating and replacing equipment, and the remainder on installation and construction work for new equipment, expansions, or new buildings. Travel is a regular part of the role, with up to 3040% of the year spent on the road, mainly during the week and with minimal weekend travel. You will typically meet at the shop in the morning and ride to job sites with the foreman, and you are paid from the time you punch in; when jobs are close to your home, you may meet directly at the site. The environment is unionized and team-oriented, with company transportation provided for project work. Dress code is consistent with industrial maintenance and construction settings, requiring appropriate workwear and safety gear suitable for large industrial facilities.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $90000.00/yr. Company vehicles and will give 3 weeks PTO if needed. $2500 sign on bonus - 1000 after 30 and 1500 after 90.
