About the Role
The Company is seeking a VP Operations to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for directing and overseeing the overall operations and site management of the Distribution Centers. This includes negotiating and administering collective bargaining agreements, ensuring the implementation of procedures that promote safety, efficiency, and profitability, and leading site management for standalone locations. The role also involves strategic planning, integrating various operational activities, and maintaining profitable operations by controlling inventory, losses, and safety. The VP Operations will be a key figure in the company, with a focus on long-term operations objectives that align with business goals and a commitment to continuous improvement in productivity and customer service. Candidates for the VP Operations position at the company should have a 4-year degree (preferred) or a High School Diploma (or GED) with equivalent experience, and a minimum of 10 years' operations experience, with at least 5 years in a management role. The role requires a strong understanding of D.O.T. regulations, labor relations, and experience in areas such as recruiting, customer service, budgeting, and cost control. Knowledge of OSHA, HAACP, and other relevant regulations is essential. The VP Operations will also be expected to have excellent PC skills and the ability to network within the industry to bring in and share best practices. The position is pivotal in maintaining a safe, compliant, and efficient operational environment, and the ideal candidate will be adept at personnel management, policy enforcement, and performance improvement.
