Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Athens, Texas. This role involves providing specialized critical care to adult and geriatric patients, with a focus on managing multisystem organ dysfunction and complex medical conditions. Job Details Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Education/Experience: 0 years of experience required; minimum of 2 years of clinical experience preferred in critical care settings, with patient ratio experience of 2/3 and charting system proficiency in Epic Schedule: Nights shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum 36 hours per week Clinical responsibilities include accessing and managing ports, arterial line management, assisting with chest tube insertion/removal, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, ventilated patient care, central line care/management, continuous IV sedation, stroke management, infection prevention, ABG interpretation, dysrhythmia management, isolation precautions, IV insulin protocols, management of multisystem organ failure, phlebotomy, PICC line management, pre/post cardiac catheterization, procedural sedation, pulmonary artery line monitoring, starting and maintaining IVs, suctioning, titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, ventilator management Additional requirements include a state or compact license in hand at the time of submittal, complete core onboarding within 48 hours of contract signing, and onsite orientation modules lasting 4-6 hours for nurses and 2-3 hours for allied health professionals.
