Responsibilities

• Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
• Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions.
• Take dental radiographs (X-rays) ensuring proper technique and patient safety.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lasting dental health.
• Maintain accurate and detailed medical and dental records within electronic health record (EHR) using Dentrix.
• Follow infection prevention protocols, including aseptic techniques and infection control measures aligned with healthcare standards.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by maintaining strict confidentiality of patient information.
• Support the dental team with equipment sterilization, setup, and troubleshooting to uphold high standards of safety and efficiency.

Experience

• Proven experience working as a Dental Hygienist in a busy dental office or clinic environment.
• Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy relevant to oral health.
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) management systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
• Hands-on experience with dental x-ray technology and radiographic procedures.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages, especially pediatric dentistry clients.
• Knowledge of infection prevention management practices, including sterilization protocols and aseptic technique.
• Ability to perform patient care tasks confidently while adhering to HIPAA compliance standards.
