What You'll Do

• Monitor sleep studies and troubleshoot equipment to ensure accurate data collection
• Prepare patients with PAP mask-fitting and explain sleep procedures
• Follow established sleep protocols to record baseline values, body position, oxygen saturation, respiratory and heart rates
• Assist with patient care, including basic mobility and support as needed
• Document patient information accurately in the EMR system (Meditech Expanse)
• Collaborate with medical staff to review results and address patient questions
• Work independently or alongside team members depending on census and staffing

What You Need

Required:

• LA State Licensure
• BLS certification
• RPSGT or RRT-SDS certification
• Minimum 1-year experience in sleep or respiratory therapy
• Comfortable working with pediatric (under age 6) and geriatric patients
• Knowledge of therapeutic respiratory interventions (BiPAP, CPAP) and sleep study procedures

Preferred:

• Prior travel experience in sleep or healthcare settings
• Ability to troubleshoot and operate sleep monitoring equipment confidently

About the Assignment This role is based in a busy sleep disorder clinic offering outpatient services for diverse patient populations, including pediatrics, geriatrics, and patients with morbid obesity. The technician will support sleep study procedures such as monitoring electrodes and probes, troubleshooting devices, and assisting with patient care. The sleep unit operates a flexible schedule, providing a dynamic environment where independence and expertise are valued.
