Position Overview

We are urgently seeking a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapist to join our orthopedic outpatient practice located in Lynchburg, Virginia. In this full-time role, you will play a crucial part in helping patients recover mobility, enhance their physical functionality, and improve their overall quality of life. Your clinical expertise will be instrumental in delivering personalized care through a range of treatment methodologies, including promotion, prevention, diagnosis, intervention, and rehabilitation.

Work Environment

This position is based onsite at our Lynchburg clinic, where you will interact directly with clients in a collaborative and supportive atmosphere. The clinic operates Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, allowing for a structured work schedule that supports work-life balance. You will have access to cutting-edge rehabilitation equipment and modalities tailored to address the needs of our diverse patient population.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate and understand the unique goals and needs of each patient by conducting thorough assessments during initial consultations.
• Maintain an efficient patient load of one individual per hour to ensure quality time and attention for therapeutic engagement.
• Design and implement individualized care plans utilizing evidence-based treatments that are tailored to each patient's specific challenges.
• Provide cost-effective therapy solutions aimed at improving patient mobility and function while minimizing the dependence on medications.
• Utilize a variety of treatment techniques, including manual therapy and therapeutic exercise, to facilitate optimal recovery.
• Educate patients and caregivers on rehabilitation protocols, offering support and motivation throughout the treatment process.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals including physicians and specialists to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Monitor patient progress, document interventions, and evaluate the effectiveness of treatment plans regularly.
• Incorporate wellness and fitness programs into recovery plans, focusing on improving strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination.
• Advance a proactive approach in creating a patient-centered environment that fosters trust and communication.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our patient demographics largely include individuals with private medical insurance seeking treatment for orthopedic conditions. You will work with a variety of cases, ranging from post-operative rehabilitation to sport-related injuries, enabling you to apply a diverse range of clinical skills and approaches tailored to specific physical challenges.

Qualifications

• A Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited program.
• Current licensure as a Physical Therapist in the state of Virginia.
• No disciplinary actions or board actions against your physical therapy license.
• Demonstrated strong manual therapy skills and the ability to develop effective exercise regimens.
• Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) software, particularly WebPT, to efficiently manage patient documentation.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience in an orthopedic outpatient setting is highly desirable, allowing you to hit the ground running and quickly adapt to our clinic's practices.
• Ability to create a positive patient rapport and a strong commitment to ongoing professional development.

Compensation and Benefits
