Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments to evaluate the physical capabilities of residents and establish personalized therapy goals.
• Design and implement individualized treatment plans that focus on restoring mobility, relieving pain, and improving functional independence.
• Provide direct patient care through hands-on therapy sessions, incorporating therapeutic exercises, balance training, and mobility interventions.
• Educate residents, their families, and caregivers on safe mobility techniques and effective home exercise programs to ensure continual progress beyond therapy sessions.
• Collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive patient care and make necessary adjustments to treatment plans based on progress and feedback.
• Maintain precise documentation of treatment processes, patient progress, and outcomes, in compliance with industry regulations and organizational standards.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will be treating residents in a skilled nursing facility, specializing in geriatric care and individuals recovering from various acute and chronic conditions. Your role will be pivotal in helping residents regain strength and improve their overall quality of life after experiences such as surgery, illness, or injury. A focus on developing rapport with residents and understanding their unique needs is essential to fostering a supportive therapeutic environment.

Qualifications

• Doctorate or Master's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
• A current Virginia PT license in good standing is mandatory.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a clear focus on patient-centered treatment approaches.
• Proficiency in patient evaluation methods and familiarity with evidence-based practice in physical therapy.

Preferred Experience

• At least 2 years of experience in skilled nursing, geriatric care, or long-term rehabilitation settings.

Compensation and Benefits
