# Sr Manager, Client Base Acquisitions**Location:** Hybrid**Compensation:** $114,100.00 to $179,300.00 (Annually) Total Compensation: There is a 15% target bonus and approximately $50,000 in restricted stock units within the company.Are you a strategic leader with a passion for driving growth through acquisitions? As our Sr Manager, Client Base Acquisitions, you will lead Paychex's strategy to expand our market presence by acquiring client bases from local and regional payroll service bureau organizations. This is a critical role where you will own the entire acquisition lifecycle, from identifying promising opportunities and conducting due diligence to negotiating deals, closing transactions, and overseeing post-closing integration.You will be instrumental in building and nurturing strong industry relationships, collaborating with diverse functional teams, and applying your strategic negotiation and analytical skills to significantly contribute to Paychex's revenue and unit growth. Your work will directly impact our ability to serve more clients and strengthen our position in the market.## What You'll Do:* Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for identifying, pursuing, and closing client base acquisitions of local and regional payroll service organizations.* Build and manage a targeted pipeline of acquisition opportunities through proactive prospecting, relationship building, and market research.* Cultivate long-term relationships with owners of payroll service bureaus and key industry centers of influence to generate acquisition opportunities.* Lead cross-functional collaboration with corporate development, finance, risk, legal, operations, sales, credit, HR, and marketing to ensure alignment and support throughout the transaction lifecycle.* Conduct confirmatory due diligence and negotiate key terms, contractual documentation, and transaction structures.* Oversee post-closing activities, including client onboarding, conversion, upsell, and retention efforts to maximize acquisition value.* Communicate program results, opportunities, and strategic updates effectively to internal stakeholders and leadership.* Continuously refine acquisition strategy using market insights, performance data, and emerging industry trends, including digital and AI-enabled sourcing tools.## What You'll Bring:* Strong strategic thinking and the ability to translate business goals into actionable acquisition plans.* Proven experience in mergers and acquisitions, sales leadership, or business development, with a track record of managing full transaction lifecycles from sourcing to integration.* Demonstrated P&L accountability, ideally within human capital management, payroll services, banking, or private equity sectors.* Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders across multiple functions without direct authority.* Strong analytical skills to assess opportunities, interpret financial data, and make sound, risk-informed decisions.* High integrity, adaptability, and resilience when navigating complex negotiations and ambiguous situations.* Comfort operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment.* A collaborative mindset that values teamwork and mutual respect.* Familiarity with digital tools and data-driven approaches to identify and evaluate acquisition targets is a plus.At Paychex Corporate, we believe in the power of **collaboration and teamwork**.
